Starve Your Doubts

Satan constantly attacks us with doubt and unbelief. The
enemy of our faith does everything in his power to compromise our trust in the
Lord.
When we face the death of a loved one we may sense the
tempter telling us God doesn’t hear our prayers for healing. A financial
need brings up the satanic argument that God is not able to change our life
circumstances. Our seasons of loneliness set that inner diabolical refrain
of, “God is nowhere to be found. You’re all alone with no hope of His presence
visiting you.” Grief from the loss of something treasured has a message from
hell trying to convince us God doesn’t care and He has no compassion for our
feelings.
I love the saying, “Feed your faith, and your doubts will
starve to death.” It is true. What you feed will grow and what you starve will
die. In Scripture we find the prescription for overcoming a faith deficiency.
Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is
heard through the word of Christ” (NIV).
The more you read, meditate and feed on God’s Word and the
teachings of Jesus Christ, the more faith you will have. On the other hand,
your faith cannot survive without a regular diet of God’s Word. If the only
influence you allow to come into your heart is the faith-destroying persuasion
of your spiritual enemy, then you can expect to have anemic faith from
malnutrition. To be strong and healthy and combat doubt and unbelief you must
have a steady diet of God’s Word. Through the daily essential vitamin and
mineral enriched intake of God’s Word the poison toxins of doubt and unbelief
are destroyed.
Take care of your spiritual health. You will only be as
strong and healthy spiritually as you are willing to do what is necessary to grow
in Christ. Remember, “Feed your faith, and your doubts will starve to death.”
