Forgotten

June 28, 2006

By Croft M. Pentz

David said, “I looked on my right hand, and behold, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul” (Psalm 142:4).

Do you feel you’ve been forgotten? Have you been betrayed and left alone? Have you been forsaken by your family and friends? Do you feel as David, that no one cares for your soul?

God hasn’t forgotten you! The Bible says God is touched with our feelings (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus, God’s Son, became the Son of Man and understands our feelings. He not only understands, He sympathizes with us.

Frank E. Graeff wrote the beautiful hymn “Does Jesus Care?” Assuring us of Jesus’ care, Graeff wrote, “Oh yes, He cares: I know He cares. His heart is touched with my grief; when the days are weary, the long nights dreary, I know my Savior cares.”

The Psalmist said, “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up” (Psalm 27:10). God will never forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

Croft M. Pentz writes “Healing for the Hurting” for The Record Herald of Waynesboro, Pa.
