Negativism

Despite the abundance of bounty and blessing, there’s so much negativism. The sunny days are too hot and the rainy days too wet.
Remarks such as, “Our neighborhood is good, but … .” “Our church, pastor and members are good, but … .” Negativism was used against Jesus, the perfect Son of God.
Probably the most dramatic example of a negative attitude’s destructive power is found in the narrative of the Israelites’ journey to Canaan. Moses sent 12 men to spy out the land of Canaan (Numbers 13:1-20). They searched out the land for 40 days. Ten of the twelve gave Moses a negative report (Numbers 13:26-29). Caleb and Joshua were positive, saying, “We are able to possess the land” (Numbers 13:30).
Christians should have a positive attitude. Words like “can’t” and “quit” should not be a part of the Christian vocabulary. Jesus said all things are possible if we believe (Matthew 19:26). Faith in God. Faith in the talents and abilities He has given you. Faith in your efforts when you know you are serving Him. Expect to be successful.
Negative people are unhappy. They have tunnel vision, seeing only the impossible. God can help you eliminate all negativism, seeing the mountain removed and the impossible becoming possible.
