My name is Diana Birkey. In the early months of 2001, I developed a rash, began to lose weight rapidly and starting having trouble breathing. A biopsy revealed I had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It was a 16 cm mass that would require chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
In the summer of 1994 a tumor was discovered near my right kidney. Surgery revealed it was malignant and a second surgery removed the tumor and the kidney. Six months later another tumor was found in the bladder. During surgery in April 1995, it was discovered to be malignant.
